Pathetic... I know. But i still have to do the 1K shoutouts to keep myself motivated :)
it took me DAYS to write this 1K. I hate the feeling that I have when I've reached 50K and then just stop. I have no motivation anymore after 50K. It happened last year, too. :p
Anyone else facing the after-50K blues? Or am I the only one? lol

I don't know if I'm feeling the 50k-blues. I think I'm just feeling a new surge of panic, that's all. But I totally agree that I need the 1k shoutouts to keep me going.
So . . .
52k! Whoohoo!
Onward to 53,000!

got to 52k a few minutes ago. and yes, i had the 50k blues. the scenes around the 50k mark were probably the worst executed in the story thus far, and will get a major rewrite come revision time. shame too, since it was a big fight scene between the two main characters that had been working together for most of the story. in fact, it was so bad, i decided that instead of doing another 2k or so of the fmc essentially saying 'why is the mmc brainwashed?', i skipped ahead to the mmc's revealing of a plot point that will lead up to the final climax, but most of the material i had planned for that section will still be used in a different form.

Woo 52K! I was expecting to slow down and lose some motivation like I did last year, but I'm actually enjoying writing more now. Huh. Oh well, I'm not complaining. :D

----------My writing has taken on a more leisurely sort of swagger, I suppose, though I'm still writing a fair amount each day. I probably have 10K to wrap up my story, at least.

52,108 and now I'm finally feeling like it'll be easier to get to the POINT of things in the story, now that I have a little more time to THINK about things instead of just Typing Away Madly to make sure I finish in time. I figure this story will be maybe about 80K, but I no longer have a time limit, so that's nice.
