Looking for Buddies in the Piedmont

I'm lazy! This will be my fourth year attempting NaNoWriMo and I have yet to finish. I'm looking for people to keep me motivated. (Looking for locals because they can threaten to break my knee caps and not live 3000 miles away.) Last year I only got down about 10,000 words. I had a good excuse though - my baby was 1 months old.

While I have yet to finish the NaNo marathon, I am a "serious" writer. (I've written 2 books in 7 years. Both have found agents, but neither have found publishers.) Frustration, frustration, frustration!!

I'm also a member of WSWriters. Anyone want to be my buddy?? Could be fun to share success stories over coffee.

Welcome to nanowrimo 2008! One of our WGOT nonfiction groups toyed with nanowrimo in 2006 (we didn't know about it 'til after it had started), but this is the first year we plan to participate en masse. We can meet up in this forum in October to plan our wonderful novels, and commiserate in the wee hours of November when our brains are numb.
For those who want to meet up in person, we're planning some write-in events in the Greensboro-High Point area during November. We'll give out the schedule at our annual meeting, 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26 at the Sternberger Arts Center, 712 Summit Ave., and in this forum. For more info about WGOT, visit www.triadwriters.org.

I was unable to continue with my writing after the death of my companion and co-worker-- my therapy dog, Xena. I will be back next year, but this November I was doing well to just hang on. Congrats to everyone who made their word count-- GO PIEDMONT TRIAD writers!

I'm moving to NC (Greensboro) in the middle of October. I was in S.Florida for my last Nano and I LOVED meeting up with people for write ins. I will be sorely disappointed if I'm not able to do that this year.

I can be the hostess, bringing goodies and holding write ins. The only Thursday I won't be available for is Thanksgiving as I'm going out of state.

Please please please, let there be people who will meet up with me. I love word wars and getting distracted by good (and bad) conversation. I'm 22 and this is my fourth year.
