Okay, I know I haven't posted much this year, nor have I been to many of the get-togethers as I don't drive at night :-( But this morning, I realized just how much this November fever has taken me over.

This morning, I woke up with a start from a dream... that was a continuation of my story where I left off last night! Only it was more dire, more convoluted and more complicated. ARGHHHH! I've got enough loose ends to tie up to take me till February, and now my shifted-into-overdrive brain does this to me!

Any one else have weird stuff like this happening about now?

Norman Scheduled Meet-ups

There has not been much activity on these boards of late. Hopefully, because everyone is so busy writing!

I haven't had any declared interest in a Sunday meet-up for the 16th, but have had some interest for a meet-up on the 20th at the Norman Barnes and Noble, so call it 'official'.

There will be a meet up 20th November (a Thursday) from 6 to 8pm. I apologise for the short duration, but I work a 10.5 hour day, so can't really stay up too late. However, the only limit on anyone else would be the closing time of the store.

I am also going to plan one for Sunday, 23rd November at the same Barnes and Noble. Anyone interested, kindly declare. Hours would be roughly from 2 to about 3 or 4 pm.

Norman (and outlying area) Nanos

I see there have been some attempts at making Norman meet-ups, but it hasn't really 'jelled', mainly because the invited times lock out everyone with a job or school during the 'normal' work-week.

My NaNoWriMo ID is navg8r, and my name is Ilya. I work on the South Research Campus at OU (Mad Science, yay!). This is my 2nd year at doing Nano, and this year I actually applied for Norman ML. The Powers That Be (not knowing what the real geography is here) turned down the app, because we are 'too close' to OKC. They suggested I contact our OKC ML , Kamikaze Cricket (Jasmine), and co-ordinate with her.

Well, I got to do better than that! Usually OKC meets up on Saturdays (when I work), but there was a Sunday one today, and it was practically in Moore, so I went. And meeting the people there was a complete delight!

Jasmine was over the Moon that I am willing to ML for the Southern half of the OKC Metro, and while I'm not 'official' yet, I shall become so (co-ML for OKC greater area, me having the South). In the meantime, I have got her formal permission to set up meet-ups and Fun Stuff starting, well, NOW.

If all of you are not too busy writing your novels to read these boards, I would like to arrange a meet-up for Sunday 16th from 2.00pm to 5.00pm. I will go out Tuesday and check venues, but if we can't find a suitable one, I would be more than happy to host the meet-up at my own house (where you actually don't have to buy anything), right here in Norman.

To aid me in finding a suitable venue, please kindly respond if you would like to attend, so I can get a rough idea of the head count.

And I really hope none of you did what I did yesterday. I, umm, started over! So, I'm 'only' 8 days behind. Hee!

Good news, folks! Oklahoma City now has its very own region. I'm so excited I'm kind of bouncing around over here. Oklahoma as a state is growing so much, and I couldn't be happier or prouder. Tulsa became a region unto itself just last year, and now Oklahoma has Oklahoma City and Stillwater as separate regions, too. It's so thrilling (or, just possibly, I need a chill pill, but I'll save that for December).

That means if you live in Oklahoma City or the surrounding area, you can go to "My NaNoWriMo" and "My Regions," click on the "Regions" tab, search for Oklahoma City (or just click on page 4 and scroll down a bit), and click on "Join." From there, if you want, you can click on the "Home Region" and make OKC your home...which'll mean your word count will count towards the OKC word count as we go.

And, of course, if OKC isn't your home region, but you want to keep up with what we're doing or check into meet ups around these parts, you can affiliate without making it your home.

I hope to see everyone who's checked in so far in the new regional forum.

Hey all! My names Stacy and this will be my first time with NaNoWriMo! I found myself being pulled between the Tulsa Region and the Elsewhere (OKC area) of Oklahoma, mainly due to the fact that I'm not really in either city. I'm stuck in the middle in a small town at the intersection of I-44 and Hwy 75. Lucky me, I got to choose! Since the Tulsa forums are pretty much bare, I went with this one. :p

I'm planning on possibly bringing the site to the attention of a couple schools in my area as well as the local newspapers, so we'll see if I can get some more participants from around here! :D

Open Invitation for the 31st!

I don't think there will be many people who will take me up on this offer, given the times of the event. But I am inviting everyone as an open invitation to my apartment next Friday, October 31st for a small kickoff/Halloween party. I don't get off work until about 9 p.m, so the party wouldn't start until about 9:30 (possibly about 9:45 to let Erica get off work). Seeing as it is so late at night, I don't foresee a ton of you willing to be there. We won't be doing much - snacking, and watching a few movies. It will last no later than 12 at the VERY latest, for I have to be at work at 8 the next morning :)

I know some people on here were saying they were going to be staying up until midnight to get a few words in before they go to bed. That's my plan as well, and I thought I'd send an invitation for others to do it with me!

I live in South Oklahoma City, right next to the Highway Patrol and OCCC.
