I heard a few laments of the drive out to PD or State St from our west side NaNos. Would anyone like to meet up at the Old Sauk Barriques sometime? I'm thinking today or tomorrow, Tuesday or Wednesday, probably from 6:30pm.

It's the same 20min drive for me either way.

Monday night....

....and it's Thanksgiving Week. For me, that means a big deal Thursday because *I* am "grandmother's house" they come to. So I'm going to try to write as much as humanly possible with the thought that I'm going to have to spend time Wednesday cleaning (well, ok, shovelling out) and Thursday is going to be spent...as it's supposed to be. (I have to say, I'm fearfully sentimental and it all really gets to me.) The Yiddish word is "verklempt"....all over weepy and dramatic and stuff.

SO! Day by day, is how I"m going to do it. I'm THINKING I might try to get out to Barriques tonight for a while perhaps...where're people going to be tonight and tomorrow? (Trouble with Barriques is, they close so early.) :-(

...and officially dropping out for this year. It's a decent start, and a project I plan to continue working on in NaNo-esque fashion, but I simply cannot finish this year.

Well, okay, I could...but I can't afford to miss work because I've gotten myself sick from pulling Nano all-nighters. *grin*

So let me say now--congratulations to all of you who've made it/are about to make it/will be barely crossing the 50k line at 11:59pm on the 30th. My hat's off to you. And good luck to all of my fellow WriMos! Have fun!

OK, so I nodded off. Couldn't help myself. An afternoon spent with 5,000 wildly energetic Girl Scouts will do that to one. (Exaggerate? Me? pfaw). So it' s now 6:45 pm on Saturday, 21 Nov and I'm going over to Barriques. They're open until 10 tonight, as I recall. I want to try to write myself back into interest and out of the Dreaded Block.
Anyone care to join me? I'll be the one in the long checkery dress and grey-and-white apron. Chewing on my lip, probably...and sighing. Yep, sighing.

Half Way Point

Josh has taken the bet and will meet me in the field of honor. The bet... full word count by Sunday night. He started 3,000 words ahead of me. So the bet is that I will not only keep up with him, but close the nearly two day gap he has on me.

In the end, winner gets the bragging rights over a Happy Slapsgiving!

(Also writing lyrics over and over again and copying and pasting sections of your novel doesn't count. lol)

I just got an email from the "USA CONSULATE OFFICE NIGERIA" saying that I am owed lots and lots of "US dolors".
Fortunately for me they have located me with only my email address and without even knowing my name, address, social security number, or bank account number. And all I have to do is give them this missing info and I'll be swimming in "US dolors"!
