Synopsis: The Crisis

First America and then the world comes under attack from a wave of terror perpetrated by a small group of 'supervillains'. Even her allies say 'Better you than me' but then other places also come under attack and no one is sure the perpetrators are or how they are able to do what it is that they do.

The cruelty of the attacks inspire some private citizens to intervene but it is not until a woman with obvious absnormal powers gives her life to stop them, that those with the gift understand the terrible responsibility that they have.

Now, as the wave of destruction and terror grows, those who feel the call to oppose it are running out of resources and time to save the Earth.

Excerpt: The Crisis

Somehow though, when the spike haired man made his way to Deira, William King found the strength to yell one last time.

“For the love of god, no! You mutherfucker, for the love of god, no!” The spike haired man looked up, his expression changing for the first time. There was no insanity and no malice. In fact, through the haze of his fear and rage William thought he saw a moment of clarity and compassion. The man shook his head solemnly.

“It is for the love of God, that I do this.” He put the last bullet in his gun into Deira and dropped the clip. The smile came back and he reloaded the pistol, turning away from William to join his partner. Together they shot their way through the rest of the ward and the police who responded to the calls to 911.

William King had a stroke as he watched baby Deira laying lifeless in her crib but he was the only one to survive what was to become the St. John’s Baby Massacre.
