Suspension (working title)
an excerpt
As you can see from my NaNo stats, my novel was very rushed this year. This caused a couple of things to happen:
1. I got as many words as I could out of each scene.
2. The way to get lots of words out of each scene was to write stream-of-conciousness thoughts of the various characters. Here's one of them that actually turned out (in my opinion) decently funny.
“I know,” she said loudly, cutting him off. That was the absolute last thing she needed right now. She didn’t want to hear about how he would always be there for her if you ever need anything, except I convinently forgot to give you any of my contact information and I just changed my phone number and moved to a new apartment and got a new email address and none of them are listened anywhere, and I’m really just saying it because I want to sound like a nice guy, and I’m actually really happy that we’re breaking up, because you’re kind of a crazy psycho bitch and I can’t deal with it anymore–– The last thing she wanted was his false pity. Or real pity. She took another step forward, anticipating something more from him, but he said nothing.
