Synopsis: The Storm Warden
Centuries ago, Edith’s family defended the British Empire against the darkness. By 1826, their duty is almost obsolete until she meets Lord Locksley: a time-travelling alchemist who takes her into the future, and to another London. Here, the dead are growing restless, and society is beginning to turn on people like Lord Locksley’s friends – an engineer who shares his head with a demon, and an army captain who is only half-human – but when none of them will tell her what happens to her family back in 1826, she decides to find some answers of her own. As murder victims begin to attack outlying villages in both their times, a revolution gathers with the coming storm and Edith meets a girl locked in an asylum who is somehow linked to all of it. Meanwhile, London’s non-humans are being rounded up, and when a monster from Edith’s time begins to stalk the city’s streets, she and Locksley can only follow the trail of destruction to discover that everything has more to do with them than they could possibly have imagined. In the midst of a battle for the all of London, they must come together to fight a darkness that threatens to destroy everything they know, and Edith must begin to accept that she may never be able to go home again.
