Synopsis: The Life of Samual Sharpe
This will technically be a sequel to my nano novel from last year, The Appeal of Rainer Holland, which I never finished. Hopefully doing a sequel will inspire me to finish that one. The one-day-will-be series centers around two people: Erika Taylor, a young criminal attorney starting fresh with her own private practice after years in the State Attorney's office; and Matt McAlister, Erika's ex-fiance, recovering alcoholic, and expert Private Investigator. The first novel centered around the appeal of a man named Rainer Holland, who was wrongfully convicted of a child's rape and murder. My nano novel, the sequel, is:
Runaway teen Samuel Sharpe has been missing for two and a half years. The police never looked for him. His parents believed he'd left the state. However, his boyfriend, Shane McAlister, Matt's younger brother, believes he'd been murdered by his malicious uncle, the chief of police. But when Sam is found chained up in the attic of a notorious drug dealer, Matt McAlister, with Erika's help, learns of secrets and lies perpetuated by their police and prosecutors. When the chief of police ends up murdered, however, all eyes turn to Shane and the evidence is overwhelming. Erika and Matt must work together to find enough evidence to get him acquitted and bring to justice all those who had a hand in Samuel Sharpe's nightmarish cativity.
