Excerpt: Hwanghon: Dusk

Their eyes met immediately as they passed. Her gaze followed him as she, dawning a dangui, accompanied her brother who dressed in a scholar's outfit lined with gold, walking proudly. His eyes were fixated on her as the two made their way. The boy stood there in the crowd of students wearing plain scholar's clothing, awaiting further instructions from their instructor. He pushed his way out to the front of the crowd and yelled.

“What's your name?”

She grabbed her brother's hand with a smile.

“Dasu, Epian!”

Then she waved, and the boy smiled as well, understanding then who he was talking to. Both the girl and her brother left the student's sight.
