Working on it.... ha ha
an excerpt

“Well, you would be too, if the tables were turned, Anne!” Elizabeth's demeanor changed in an instant, and she threw Anne a dark glare over her shoulder, tossing her long blond braid dramatically. “You know how Mother and Father would react to this. You know how they have reacted in the past! Have mercy on your poor sister and for once just stay home!” Elizabeth let out an exasperated scream when Anne merely stood and grinned at her, green eyes glittering with laughter and the thrill of adventure. “Oh for heaven's sake! Just go, Anne, just go! But I know nothing of it! I have not seen you all morning!” With a dainty huff of air Elizabeth stormed from the room, marching down the staircase.

And from a few pages later:

“Richard...” Anne spoke the word slowly, as if testing the way it sounded. An odd sensation of danger raced down her spine, by what she had heard she feared the man might be looking for Ruby. That wouldn't do at all. “What might you be doing out amongst the trees, Richard?”
“I thought I saw... No, wait, your name. What is your name?” Richard crossed his arms over his muscled chest, frowning uncertainly at the brazen redhead who stood before him. It was rare to find a woman as outspoken as this one, but he couldn't help feel she was hiding something.
“I hardly see how that is relevant, sir, but I am called Anne.” She watched him intently, mind racing to find a way to distract him from continuing his search.
“Its dangerous for a woman to be out so deep in the forest alone, miss Anne.” Richard responded haughtily.
“Well its dangerous for a man to be out in these woods alone as well. Should you not be with a hunting party?” Anne inquired as nonchalantly as possible, attempting to feign a cool disinterest, but praying silently that there wasn't really a hunting party skulking through the woods.
“I'm not hunting.” Richard snapped sharply, eyes leaving Anne momentarily to scan the woods around them. “I'm wasting time here.” He made himself walk forward, brushing past Anne carelessly, beginning his trek deeper into the forest.
Anne stood where he had left her, fumbling for a way to further stall him. “Wait, Richard! I...” She hesitated, mind racing to find something to say. “ I actually am lost. And it's terribly frightening out here all alone. Could you show me the way back to the village?” No matter how it made Anne want to scream, she acted the part of the distressed maiden, hoping against hope that chivalry held out.
Richard stood for a moment, looking torn. He heaved a sigh and turned away from the heart of the forest and to Anne. “Follow me.” he instructed sharply, walking past her once more, headed in the opposite direction.
“Why thank you, good sir!” Anne stepped up after him, falling into step behind him, wondering how she was going to both keep him occupied and safely get back to Ruby. Top priority for Anne was to get Ruby safely back into the air. The importance of whatever it was that Ruby had sent her to find paled in comparison to that of Ruby herself. She would gladly leave behind whatever it was if it ensured the dragon's safety.
“Why do you wish to go to the village? I'm sure I've not seen you there before.” Richard had suddenly adopted a very formal tone with her, discarding his previous belligerance.
“I have...” Anne paused, making a show of carefully stepping over a fallen tree, buying herself time with which she could come up with a suitable answer. “An uncle in the village, I have come to visit my father's dear brother. I just have wandered too far from his home, I'm afraid, and gotten myself lost.” She attempted to pull off the nervous babble that most of the women acquired when they talked to men like her father.
“Well.. you should be more careful. The forest is a dangerous place. Did you walk out here?” He tried to make the question sound offhand, trying not to make the suspicions that ran through his mind apparent.
“Pardon me?” Anne replied uncertainly, eyes scanning the trees around them, wondering just how far Ruby had landed from the village.
“You.. seem to be dressed for riding, did you walk out here, or have you lost your horse?” Richard continued walking, knowing that they were not far from the village borders. He wished that he had more time with this woman, to get answers to the questions that now plagued him.
“I.. no. I was planning on going for a ride later.” Anne supplied the story with surprising ease, shocking herself with how easy it seemed to tell this lie. “I only came into the forest in search of my Aunt's poor kitten. You see the little thing ran off this morning, and my Aunt is just heartbroken. I was hoping that I would find her. But while I was looking I lost my way.”
“A small kitten would be hard to locate in these woods. How can you be sure it came this way?” Richard made a show of peering around, as if looking for the feline.
“A man I passed this morning told me that he'd seen her run in this direction in the wee hours of the morning, I thought she may still be here. I couldn't think of any other way to help.” Anne lifted her hands helplessly and let them drop back to her sides.
The edge of the trees soon became visible and Anne's stomach tightened. What if Richard asked who this fake uncle of hers was? What if he wanted to walk her home? What if she couldn't find a way to shake him to get back to Ruby?

Stopped mid sentence there... nyaa...

Here comes some heat and drama. The first kiss!
Gasp! AND LOOK WHAT SHE TELLS HIM AT THE END THERE!
Wow.. =D
This was from a few pages ago..

“Yes, its in the saddlebags on the horse, here, let me get it.” He moved very carefully around her, avoiding contact with her as best he could. He opened the stable gate, digging in the pack on the horse, pulling out her bag, before walking back to her. He stood before her, holding the bag out uncertainly, carefully maneuvering his fingers to avoid contact with hers as she took it from him.
“For the love of God, Richard I am not a leper!” Anne took one furious step closer, surprising the both of them when she grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him closer to her. With a slight devilish grin she laid her lips on his. She had expected it to be light, easy, teasing, but was proven to be sorely mistaken. Heat, scorching, fresh heat flared within Anne, from the top of her head to the tips of her toes. Richard was obviously not immune to the fire either, as one hand delved into her hair and the other found the small of her back, pulling her closer.
The sensations exploded in her mind. All Anne could think about was him, the way his lips felt against hers, the strength in the hand that held her close. Very suddenly Richard tore away from her and she stood, blinking in astonishment as he stalked to the end of the stable and back.
“Dammit all Anne! That was not supposed to happen!” His breathing was heavy, and his eyes held a look of blatant hunger. To hide the fact that his fingers trembled he balled his hands into fists and shoved them hastily into his trouser pockets.
“Why not! Why couldn't it happen?” Anne ran her fingers through her hair in frustration, realizing that she already missed the way his hand had felt there, already missed having him so close.
“Because it can amount to nothing!” Richard once again stalked to the side of the stable and back, as if he were an animal in a cage. “Nothing can come from this, Anne, don't you see that?”
“No, no I'm afraid I don't see things the same way you do, Richard. And I wish I could change your sight.” Anne took a deep breath, stooping to pick up her bag, which had dropped, unnoticed to the dirt at their feet. “But I can not change what you want. I will walk you out. Thank you for delivering my bag.”
“Damn woman!” Richard stomped over to her, taking her wrist in his hand as she reached for the gate, to fetch his borrowed horse. Using his grip on her wrist as leverage, he yanked her to him, devouring her mouth once more, a hand fisted over her wrist and the other spread out against her back once more. After a moment he released her, stepping back and glaring at her as she stared at him, looking slightly dazed. “You can not question what I want. But what I want affects nothing. What I want can not change who I am. Who you are. What I want can not change the fact that I will not put my lords eldest daughter at risk.” He stormed past her, steam nearly rising from his ears. Richard tossed the gate open, snatching the reins for his borrowed horse and beginning to lead it from the stable.
“Why must you think of me as your lords daughter? Why can't I be just Anne, and you just Richard?” Anne threw the bag down in frustration, staring at him. “Was I not just Anne the day I met you? Were you not just Richard? Why must it be different now?”
“Anne... Don't.” Richard stopped where he was when the tears streamed down her face. Those powerful green eyes were watery as she glared at him. “Don't cry, Anne, please.”
“I'm not crying!” Anne wiped impatiently at her eyes. “I will not cry over you. I just don't understand why I must be caged in my whole life. Why everything I do must be restricted because of who my father is! If my father was the miller in your village, rather than a nobleman, would anything be able to come of this?” Anne stared at him through watery eyes, awaiting his answer.
“If you were the daughter of the miller... Then yes, Anne, yes something would come of this. But you are not. Do you think your father would see you with someone like me? Do you know what I do for a living, Anne? I'm a farmer, Anne. A farmer. I grow and sell crops for my living, just like my father before me, and his father before him. Would your father see you with a farmer?” Richard sighed softly, turning to lead the horse out into the courtyard.
“My mother would...” Anne sniffled softly, managing a smile. “My mother would think it was horribly romantic that I should fall in love with a farmer.”
