Brief Author Bio: My name is Jessi. This is my 4th year participating in NaNo. This year, I started it off with a bang by catching the swine flu and missing the kick-off, write in events. I haven't been to a write in this year because of the flu... I don't want to infect anyone else with my piggie virus. I am LOVING the word wars on MSN, though. I'm running at a better pace than other years, so fingers crossed I don't lose steam. The story that I'm writing is one that I've been working on for 3 years... but I restart it every year. I think I've finally taken the right direction this year... so, bring on December Edit Month!! XD Don't be afraid to add me as a buddy. :) |

Synopsis: Memoirs of Daniel
After thousands of years, the human race has lost faith in their God. And, in turn, Daniel begins to lose faith in the human race and in his own species. This is the story of Daniel's broken road of faith. His remembrances of times when he gave up, when he surrendered, when his heart turned dark with pain and envy.
Throughout the story, Daniel wrestles with corruption, lust, greed, and sin as plague and despair swamp the Earth. His duty to save and preserve souls for God is tested when other Angels fall around him, causing thousands on Earth to die within seconds of each other. He meets with the dark Angels of Infernus, and his loyalties are tested. The Titans want his blood for his betrayal of their race. His brothers and sisters turn their backs. And then, when the pressure mounts too high, Daniel plummets into the heart of Infernus, rising to become one of the most feared Angels that Infernus has ever known.
Another Angel rises up in Daniel's wake.
The Apocalypse has begun.
The story can only end one way: with the end of time.
Excerpt: Memoirs of Daniel
“You were stupid to even attempt this,” Abaddon told him, his eyes never left Daniel’s and they seemed to grow darker as he got closer. “You are weak. Blinded.”
Daniel shook his head. No, he was not either of those things. His brothers in Araboth, perhaps. But not Daniel. “I came for the souls of the boy and the woman.”
“Yes, I figured that much out for myself,” he answered Daniel with another laugh in his throat. “What I am trying to find out is how you plan to escape if you manage to take them from me.”
At least two dozen Demons came out of the shadows; some were walking, some were crawling. Daniel took a moment to take in his surroundings, to count the ones that encircled him. To spot a weakness that he could exploit. On the ground, there was a Demon, not even a former Celestia, dragging itself closer to Abaddon’s side. It snapped its teeth in Daniel’s direction, a disturbing growl emitting from its throat. Daniel did not flinch. It was normal for these Demons to have pets.
“There is no weakness here,” Abaddon said, guessing at Daniel’s vague plot. “We outnumber you, nearly thirty to one. You are not that strong.”
Instead of heeding Abaddon’s warning, Daniel continued to assess the assembled army. There were five behind him, including one pet. There were five on either side, each with a pet of their own. And Abaddon, with his pet, stood before him. He knew that the first priority was to get the souls attached to his fallen brother. That would be the easy part. He could outwit his brother in a fight. But, getting through the barrier of the Hell and back to Araboth without attracting a small apocalypse would be a miracle.
