The sun was unable to do its usual devilish blazing, because it was mercifully covered by a blanket of clouds. There was the wind, causing the tree branches and leaves to swerve in every which way direction. It was the wonderful season of autumn, and the heat was finally going into hiding where it should permanently belong. Running weather just doesn’t get as magnificent as that.
And it was completely unfortunate that I was stuck inside, obligated to my school responsibilities, when the only thing I wanted to do was lace on my running shoes and bolt out the door. And then keep bolting for a few more miles. God, did that sound appealing.
Even more completely unfortunately, I chose the wrong decision. I chose monotonous over exuberance and I really wish I didn’t. The reason I regret being idle is because exuberance isn’t even an option anymore.
