Excerpt: Andradar
Hey, I’m Kisha,’ the new girl said. I halted; her indigo aura gave me a feeling I had never felt before, new and completely indescribable. It was almost as if she was an embodiment of peace itself. Her inner spirit seemed in harmony with the Horizon’s very core and her serenity was like a dove gliding through a warm breeze. There was something different about this girl and I had an inkling that I knew what it was. As I stood in her presence, I felt the power of her positivity flow through me and I got the feeling that as long as she was here, everything would be alright. She brought hope, and could it be that this hope was not only for me, but the entire universe, I thought to myself as Enya made a reference to the origin of our names.
I had inherited my abilities from my mother and before she and my father had died, the two of us spent long hours discussing the certainty of our feelings. She had told me it was coming and that when death came it would be no fateful coincidence, but for the greater good, as a martyr of Alzaan. She had said that in the balance of existence it was necessary for death to occur in more ways than one. I was sure then that she knew how and when she was going to die, yet she knew that it was her destiny to follow that path and complete the actions that would lead to her to her death. She had no fear. She told me never to tell Enya and that he wouldn’t understand. I should have listened to her.
I wished she was here with me now and wondered what her judgement on new girl would have been; she would have helped me uncover another piece of Kisha’s mystery. I sighed watching Enya carry Kisha’s bag. She was an unusual beauty, fair with long dark brown hair and the most striking sea green eyes I could drown in. We left her in Regus’ cabin and the pangs of emotional trauma returned as the calming effects of her aura gradually faded. For the first time in years I had been able t look back into the past with a tinge of nostalgia instead of anger and silent hatred. Who was this girl? I didn’t want to know her name, status or even her hobbies; I wanted to know her internal power. I wanted to know her soul
