"Wait!" he heard the voice come from behind and his feet froze as he recognized it. "Mr. Stargazer, wait for me!"

Vega turned, his eyes taking in the sight of Miss. Marin -alive!- her hair undone, her dress ruined, running towards him. She let out a little gasping yelp as her heeled shoes slipped on the fluid slick floor but he was there to meet her, catching her up in his arms and holding her tight. His mind raged as he helped her regain her footing and before he fully knew what he was doing he had cupped her face in his hand and pressed his lips to hers.
