Visions
an excerpt
I am not your average height for women these days but there are time I wish I could be an inch shorter or these basement beams could be a few inches higher. At the moment my head hurts from the thumping it took rising from my previous position.
“Ow, that’s smart. Should wear a helmet next time I am in my basement trying to draw out circles,” giggles in the back ground can be heard. “Pipe it, I don’t need to hear it from you now.”
“Aw come on, I need some amusement right about now. You’re taking as much time as molasses needs to go up hill in the middle of January.” This voice can be heard by few and seen by even fewer.
Pointing a finger at the voice and vision I can’t help myself from burrowing my brow line in grief thinking what I did to deserve this entity as my mentor.
“You know I do not have any inkling of Norwegian ancestry for you to be linked to me in any way possible and yet here you are tormenting me in my attempts to further my practical knowledge.”
“Hey your father had much to do with me and you know very well I had been the first you ever knew about in the whole scheme of this world. Now come on I think one of your symbols is in the wrong place.”
“He’s Romanian with Russian-Mongolian ancestry. My mother-“
“What ever the point is that you are here and you are the one whom interests me with what you can be. So what if I am Norse and you are a third rate Canadian.”
I can’t wonder what it would be like if I had it any other way. Loki can be annoying but he has his moments that I couldn’t live without. Ignoring that last comment about heritage I look to the slightly incomplete circle and hold the back of my neck examining what could be out of place.
“I think you are right.” I changed the symbols for Earth and Energy around then look to Loki for certainty but found nothing but air. “Okay, this is where I fly by myself and hopefully not for a crash landing.”
