Synopsis: Turning Japanese
Wilbur's Grandfather posed him with a bit of a problem when he married Yuki. For starters, Grandfather Murphy fought the Japanese on the Kokoda Track. To make matters worse, Yuki's Grandfather died on the Kokoda Track. Family life growing up as a Faerie Child was tough for Wilbur, but as he learns more about his Kami spirit in-laws, and learns words of wisdom from his best friend Zoser (a living Mummy who runs a Kebab shop), Wilbur and Yuki are getting closer to solving one of Australia's deepest historical rifts between his and her cultures.
Will Yuki's Kami Spirit parents show Yuki the way to solving the mystery of the box in the attic Grandfather Murphy left Wilbur? Can Zoser live the Australian dream by becoming Pharaoh of the Food Court? Can Wilbur make his wife realise his Grandfather's attitude towards her people was a product of his time?
Will Osamu Tezuka, "God of Manga" remind everyone that all life is sacred? All this and more in Turning Japanese!
