Quickly she threw back the blankets from her bed, pulled off her nightcap (one could never be too careful when playing at being a proper young lady), and slipped out of bed, fully clothed. The padding of her woven boots made a sound audible only to the two mice resident in the walls, who briefly lifted their heads from their nests of grass, cotton, and Eo’s hair, and promptly decided that nothing involving the dropping of crumbs was about to commence, and thus, nothing worth getting up for.
