Favorite novels: I Capture the Castle, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Pride and Prejudice, Twilight, Harry Potter, Catch-22, The Chronicles of Narnia, Austenland... etc.
Favorite writers: Shannon Hale, JK Rowling, Jane Austen, C.S. Lewis, Lewis Carroll, my mom.
Favorite music: I can't listen to my usual preferences when I write. It takes me out of the moment. I need to listen to oldies. Most of the time, though, I listen to alternative. Stuff like Mika, Hot hot heat, and Jason Mraz.
Non-noveling interests: Singing. Singing, singing, singing. I want to be an opera singer. Also, I'm a mormon. I'd consider it an interest, but some people would put it in a different category. Anyway, I also like reading, choir, and a little drama (the variety on the stage, not in my social life).

Meant for Each Other... Unfortunately.
an excerpt
Sandra woke up in a plain white room, staring at the ceiling. There was a face about two feet away from her. She blinked, and the face came into focus. It was Robert.
“H-hey.”
“Hey, Sandra. How are you feeling?”
“Am I... dead?”
“Yes. You are. This is heaven.”
Sandra tried to sit up and look around. All she saw aside from the plain white walls were large machines, beeping occasionally. There was a tube stuck in her arm.
“This is NOT heaven, you idiot.”
Robert snapped his fingers. “Oh, well. It was worth a shot, right?”
“What happened?”
“You were... in a car accident, Sandra.”
“Ugh. I don't feel so good.”
“You hit your head pretty hard, but they said you didn't have a concussion, so you can probably go home after they check you out.”
“Right. How's ... Mikey? Is he okay? He was in the car, right?”
“Y-yes. He was in the car.” Robert cleared his throat and bit his lip.
“Oh, just tell her you killed me already.” Mikey came up behind Robert, glowering at him.
Sandra blinked twice and shook her head. She closed her eyes and started rubbing her temples.
“What did you do this time, Robert?”
“Don't listen to him, Sandra! He's not dead!”
“What? What am I doing here talking to you, then? I thought you didn't exist.”
“Of course I do, nimrod.”
Mikey glared at him. “Don't even try to get out of this.”
“What is going on here?” Sandra finally barked. Both of the boys looked a little startled and cleared their throats. “We were in a car accident, right?”
“That was no accident...” Mikey muttered.
“What happened, Mikey?”
Mikey glared at Robert and continued. “All right. So you're turning left, right? And all of a sudden this car... that was PARKED, flicked to life and sped directly into the passenger door.”
“...go on,” Sandra said. She already didn't like this.
“Well... that's the funny thing. You see... there was no one driving.” Robert shuffled his feet.
Sandra spoke as if to a three year old with his hand caught in the cookie jar. “Robert... Did you try to kill us with the car?”
“Well... yes and no.”
“Explain. Now,” she hissed lividly. Robert stretched out his collar.
“Well, you see... I was talking to you, you know? And you're all stressed out with this movie thing and school and you're just not really feeling it anymore... I thought maybe it'd be great if you just kicked the bucket right now.”
“So you tried to KILL me??”
“Yes.”
“But you hit Mikey's side of the car.”
Robert nodded. “You see, there's the hitch. I expected you in the passenger's seat.”
“But you killed Mikey? That's messing with fate, Robert!”
“He's... he's not actually dead...” he tried weakly.
Sandra turned to Mikey. “Are you actually dead, Mikey?”
“Well... I certainly look pretty nasty.”
Sandra took in a sharp breath. “Does your body have a pulse, Mikey?”
He was quiet for a minute. Then he grudgingly nodded.
“You see... I sort of put the brakes on as fast as I could when I saw that it was Mikey in the passenger seat...”
Sandra held up a hand, her eyes closed. “I've heard enough, boys. It's time to get out the big guns.”
“Oh, no...”
“What does she mean--”
“GUS!!”
