June 23rd

“In a perfect world, I’d be red and you’d be blue. We’d never disagree, for I’d see the world in a lighter shade of love, whereas you’d see the world through the cool glasses of kindness; blue has always seemed to be a kind colour, to my mind at least.
In a perfect world, I’d sing high and you’d sing low. We’d create an endless symphony of honey sweet top notes, merged perfectly with the warm brown fudge of a voice in a lower set than mine. In a perfect world, of course.
In this perfect world, I’d tell lies and you’d tell truths. In this way, we’d rule the stars- never knowing which was false and which one honest, we’d be as interchangeable as the night and day; that is to say, not at all, yet still the same.
In a perfect world, where at sixteen love was always love, and right was always right, we’d be an amalgamation of two distinct entities, bonded by the one umbilical cord, formed in the womb; a watery space of creation and endless possibilities, where an idea might be born- formed from the ether within a mother’s galaxy.
In a perfect world, we would be one: alpha and omega, the one and only, the here and now, be all and end all, world without end. Amen.
