Synopsis:
Searching for answers to his brothers suicide a young student clashes with an ancient cult and discovers his emerging abilities have awoken a terrible force which threatens to destroy the world
Excerpt:
Lisa jumped down from his shoulder and leaped onto the bed glancing at the clock on the table she said, ‘Six o’clock. We should get going.’
She blew on the candle sitting on the table next to the clock and it flickered silently to life, flooding the room with an orange light. Shadows danced across the wall as the candles flames swayed back and forth in the still air.
In the light Phillip could see her beautiful shape. Lisa was his magical pet, given to him by his great aunt on his tenth birthday. She had grown since then, in both size and weight. But she was beautiful all the same. About two feet long from nose to tail point, she resembled a wombat in many ways. Although in many others she resembled a cat. Her slender body was covered in thick, soft, yet slightly bristly hair, her nose was squashed and her black nose shone like a newly polished shoe. Her huge eyes were a marvellous green, and her short stubbly legs had long fingered hands, giving her the amazing ability to grasp and climb things that no other wombat would be able to do.
She looked at him with a mischievous look in her eye. ‘I’ve got a game we can play.’
