In a distant land, there is a legend held dearly by its people, it tells the story of a goddess, and the world she created as well as the hero who had once saved it from destruction.

The bringing of Magitech in the old era soon brought about the start of the Great Divide, a time in the world where the people began to separate, each creating their own little colonies, setting them apart from the rest of the world. And in time, those small colonies soon became great nations and conquering empires.

As the centuries went on, the world became rich with technology, and each of the five nations creating their own form of Magitech, which in turn helped them form their own culture and way of life.

But what was meant to be a blessed gift from the goddess, quickly turned into a devastating curse threatening the destruction of mankind. The peaceful coexisting nations had become blinded by greed and power, and so turned against one another in an attempt to outdo and conquer each other, which began Ancient War, a war fated to rage on for nearly a millennia.

As time went on, the war between the five nations began to take its toll on the world. Plants withered, lakes and rivers became nothing more then dried up riverbeds, lush forests which were once teeming with life had become nothing more then desolate wastelands. Through the droughts, earthquakes, and plagues, it all became clear at that point...the world was dying....

But one day, up from amongst the ashes of the dying world, a hero arose, calling forth the spirit of origins to seal away the Magitech, the bane of humanity. And with the world striped of power, the war came to and end and peace befell the world's nations once more, beginning forth a new era of light and prosperity.

However, once the earth was restored to its former glory, the hero vanished, never to be seen again. But in his place, a single relic was left. This powerful relic was said to contain the very essence of the goddess herself. And for many generations, was considered holy to the people. But over time, the people began to fear its power, fearing that it would once again corrupt them, and lead to another era of darkness.

So the five nations took it upon themselves to break the relic apart into seven pieces, scattering each of its remnants to the four corners of the earth never to be brought together again in hopes that their world will remain prosperous. Yet the prophecies tell a different story....

"Nearing the end of the Golden Era, the world will plummet into the shadows of war. But from the ashes of our dying world, the light of the Eternal Hero will rise again, and smite the ancient kingdoms bringing forth anew, so beginning the Age of Ragnarok, the dawn of a new era..."
