"A story to tell" is an engaging story concerning four people that are caught in a perplexing situation set in the South-Indian capital city of Madras in the year 1940. While outside, there is a struggle for Indian Independence, the internal dramas of a society plagued by caste distinctions surface when two men with opposing idealogies fall in love with the same woman. The drama surfaces with the Engineering college as the background and the fourth person, the college dean, a runaway German is drawn in as well.
