“Are you feeling okay?” Hyun-Shik asked, coming over to sit beside her. “You’ve been looking out of it since you woke up.”

“I am fine,” Kira said softly. “Just...”

“Just?” Hyun-Shik prompted.

“I would rather you three were not here,” she said bluntly, her voice still soft. “You do not understand what you are getting into, and...I would rather you not be pulled into this war. You have lives to return to, loved ones – you have a home to return to.”

“And you don’t?” Hyun-Shik asked rhetorically, leaning back and putting his hands behind his head.

Kira didn’t reply, and Hyun-Shik closed his eyes.

“You’re really something,” Hyun-Shik muttered, and Kira froze, looking over at him.

“And why do you say that?” she managed to keep her voice even, but knew he could feel her tension.

“You don’t need to eat, for one; two, when you fainted earlier, it wasn’t because of lack of food or sleep. And three,” he sat up suddenly, opening his eyes, so his face was close to hers. “You have two wings on your back.”
