Synopsis: Atlantica
Ava, a young girl, lives in an underwater society. Her race is the result of an interbreeding between merpeople and humans. When children hit puberty they are told that because of their mixed race, their lungs cannot withstand the pressure forever, and they could die at any time. No one realizes that their race can survive on land. Ava encounters the mermaids and discovers this, but then must convince everyone else and try to save her people from eventual extinction.
