Mordred's Song

I was about five years old when I first learned that I was the son of the greatest king who ever lived. It marked the end of the happiest time of my life.
Perhaps I should explain, first to you the finder why I have chosen to leave this account. Now that my fate has been played out, I can feel my sanity slipping away and soon I fear that I will end up like my mother or Uther or Igraine. Perhaps I shall be lucky enough to at least remain as lucid as Aunt Morgan. In any event, I am writing first and foremost in an attempt to remain in what passes for reality.
