Synopsis: Tutte Le Mie Voglie

When the son of a powerful Mafia Don falls in love with his best friend, there's potential for trouble. The problem is that the trouble doesn't come from the Don.

Excerpt: Tutte Le Mie Voglie

January, 1944. Lawrence Hospital, Bronxville, New York.

Anthony Romero was born on the tenth of January, 1944, at half past seven in the evening.

He was sleeping on his exhausted mother's chest when his big brother Michael entered the recovery room.

"Mama?" whispered Michael.

Marina opened her eyes and smiled softly. "Michael, baby." She sounded weak, with good reason. "Do you want to see him?"

Michael nodded excitedly and crossed the room to stand at his mother's side.

She sat up in the hospital bed and ever so gently placed Tony in Michael's arms.

The baby started from his sleep, and Marina winced, hoping that he wouldn't start to cry. Michael held him steady, cupping the back of his head gently, and Tony settled down immediately.

Michael gazed at the baby adoringly for a few moments. Tony was so tiny, with a lot of dark hair on his head, and after a moment, he opened his eyes slightly. In the dim light of the recovery room Michael could see that they were very dark blue.

Tony and Michael stared into each other's eyes for a moment before Tony closed his and squirmed in Michael's arms to get comfortable.

Marina noticed that Michael's eyes had welled with tears.

"Hey, baby, what's the matter? Why are you crying?" she whispered.

"I love him, mama," Michael breathed.
