Synopsis: Caught in Madness
A second year college student, Lauryn Tomlin has found a point in her life that she is content with, away from her barely there mother with nothing to feel for, away from her father that she never grew to know about, away from the tedious high school. With a stand-in brother and a stand-in mother, a full time college student and a part time restaurant employee, she is satisfied.
Until spring break started it all, until her ex-boyfriend pulled her down, she finds her life to be twisted and torn apart away from the things she used to know by the things she hears. Labeled a schizophrenic, but secretly nothing works on her to ease the voices that cling to her. It is with a façade that she acts like nothing is wrong – she is still Lauryn and is stubborn to act like Lauryn all the while she is slowly crumbling, losing her grip on who she really is as she fights it with all the things they say, all the things she remembers, and all the things she feels.
Then she finds the truth behind all the voices. They’re real, and they want out. Caught in insanity, seduced by the crazed, she falls deeper into their world while they become a part of her world. She’s even more on the edge of losing who she is, crossing lines she swore she’d have never cross. She would know how the drugs would feel, how a sex-addict would submit, and she’s all too familiar with the breakdown, mental, emotionally, and physically. The familiarity is long gone, turned away from all she knew. She isn’t Lauryn anymore, not the one she used to be, used to know. She doesn’t know herself anymore and finds it too quickly of how easily she doesn’t care.
She falls, she falls. It's a downward spiral. Can she save herself?
