Synopsis: Death of it all

When everything in your life starts to crumble, what do you do? Who do you go to when your dreams are shattered? What measures will you take to survive? How far will you go?
Back in the world of Aronea, where religion and beliefs rule above all and people are corrupted by their greed, a man walks alone, desperate to find a way to live in this polluted world of anguish. When the world around him starts to crumble, who will he turn to? Which religion will save his soul from corruption?

Excerpt: Death of it all

For three hours he had suffered the mismatched music and the singing out of tune. But he had endured it as Fay had asked him. Things were going rough between them lately. Fay was swaying away from him. Micah was inclined to blame Andrew, the nightmare cousin. For some reason the man had a burning hatred to Micah that the other man could not understand. And since things were so bad between them, Micah was willing to suffer a few hours amongst music he hated and people who smelt worse than the pigs on a Saturday evening.

Some people just believed that they could sing much better than the others and they let their voices ring over the crowd. It was true that some could actually hold a tune rather like real singers. That was okay. But still hearing the same bloody song over and over again was plain torture!

The rest of the awful evening was more of a blur. Micah could not remember what had happened. All he remembered was dozing off to the third time he heard the famous song by the guy who was his grandfathers favorite. The next he came to the whole scene was changed. The bar was quiet, the karaoke machine was broken and nothing could be heard anywhere. Micah looked up from the table, Fay was nowhere to be seen. He saw the blond that had occupied the karaoke machine for the last hour. She was beautiful, even in her death. Her throat had been slit so straight and so true. She'd collapsed right where she stood, the microphone fallen from her hands had rolled only inches away.

Behind her the man who controlled the karaoke machine had not received such a pleasant death. You could still see the entrails of his brains spilled over the electrical machines and the top of his head that had been severed was still slowly swaying on the top of the stereo. Micah had an urge to push the man; to see if would topple down. But even in his death the man looked like he could take you on. His leather bound vest was glistening with the fresh blood and the gang signs he had engraved on the vest spoke more than the silence around him.
