'Til Death
an excerpt
"I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride," the preacher said, smiling at the young couple. The bride looked at her new husband, her eyes glistening with unshed tears as a smile grew wider across her face. The groom wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close. "I love you," he whispered before tenderly kissing her. As the congregation applauded, she pulled back, still smiling. "I love a happy ending," she said, a giggle in her voice.
"Where the *** are my socks?" came a voice from the other room.
So much for suspension of disbelief, I thought, reaching for the remote. I flipped off the movie as I rose from the couch, trying to keep hold of the warm fuzzy feeling that the movie had created.
