Synopsis: Common Rules

At the moment, the novel in my head is a bit nebulous but will involve:

- A quasi-Canadian steampunk setting where the small Canadian colony was politely handed a separate regency due to the machinations of one Robert Boyle.
- A college in the middle of the wilderness with magic duels on the rooftop
- A mysterious secret society hell-bent on releasing the dark creatures trapped within the college for fun and profit
- Librarians who secretly control the whole world (just like in real life)

It's a YA novel at present and leaning heavily in the fantasy direction.
