Synopsis:
It was Halloween night when Eva's brother disappeared. He left no note, no clue, no body. There was no trace of him left at all- at least until Eva fell asleep in her missing brother's room and woke up in a world of shadows.
A world of Masks.
Now Eva's doing everything she possibly can to find her brother and get them both back home... before the people hunting her brother find him first.

(So, basically - a girl in her late teens falls into a type of Spirit World, unknowingly following in the wake of her brother. Once the girl gets her bearing, she starts off on a journey to find her brother and get the hell home. In this world, masks have the power to transform people into something more than what they are, within limits. The function of the Masks will (I hope) call on and reflect the lore of many different cultures.
There are humans living in this Spirit World; some that are good, some that are bad. There's going to be an antagonistic group thrown in there, plus the B plot of why her brother fell (or jumped) into this Other World in the first place.

ETA: I am now writing the prequel to this story from the brother's POV, since that seems to be where the story really wants to start. Oops.
