Brief Author Bio:

I've done NaNo for three years unofficially (10-12 in high school), then took a year off since I haven't managed to reach the limit. I'm back for the fourth time, now officially and will be trying out again. Writing is my passion, but I obsess over every word until I feel it's right. I will inevitably go back a week later and change it...so I'm hoping that this'll help me out.

Synopsis: Em(path)

Emily lives a perfectly normal life…as normal as a 16-year-old foster child plagued with nightmares and developing powers of empathy can.

*My username isn't based on Emily, but rather on my first developed character who came into being about ten years ago (wow...didn't realise it's been that long). She will showing up in this story much, much later.

Excerpt: Em(path)

Stepping out of the car, Emily bit her lip. People turned to stare at her and whispered as she tried to avoid looking at anyone directly. She ducked her head down, her auburn hair doing little to conceal her face. They all know. God, all of them. And the looks and whispers won’t stop. Why did I think that –

A gasp passed her lips as a hand enclosed her wrist and she instinctively tried to pull away.

“Hey, calm down. Come here.” The words were soft and she turned her head to meet Max’s grey eyes. His arm wrapped around her shoulders, staring almost defiantly at the other students, and he led her to the school’s entrance.

If it had been a year ago, her stomach would have been filled with butterflies and her face would have been red. But now…now she was almost nauseous from the attention and her face was white as she tried to control her fear.
