Excerpt: The Singing Swords

I never thought about what happened then- I guess it was a hallucination. The only thing that grounds me to this ‘hallucination’ is the small crystal I have locked away. Truthfully, I don’t want to remember it- but all at the same time I do.
It’s sort of like a really bad memory, but had the good parts to it. Since I still know where the swords are, I guess I still am protecting them. From the swords, of course. I have Barny’s heart still, a gift I will always treasure.
I wonder how Barny is doing. I bet he’s doing great. I receive a notice from him once a month, and the way it sounds he’s doing fine. I bet being king of Angloria will do that to you. I should go back sometime. For now, though, I guess I will bask in the memories.
