Synopsis: Prairie Peace Park
When three friends purchase a house off of Interstate 80, they find themselves inserted into a long history surrounding the house. From peace-loving hippies, to a foursome of foreign exchange students. They discover how one man sought to change the world in a single place: Prairie Peace Park.
Excerpt: Prairie Peace Park
James Silvestri, 62, died last week of severe cancer in his prostate glands. He is survived by a brother and his family. No other relatives could be reached. He was born in Montana in 1947, where he spent the first half of his life. At age 30, he purchased property off of I-80 and developed it into Prairie Peace Park. He lived there with friends for a number of years, and spent many more alone there. He sold the property shortly before his death. The viewing will be at Volzke Funeral Home in Seward on December 8, with the funeral the following day at The United Church of Christ.
