Applause Room

Bits and pieces of the day's mail started lazily raining down around them, in some strange and somewhat pathetic imitation of a cherry blossom tree shedding it's petals. A flyer that had come unfolded during the chaos flapped down and promptly landed on the stranger's head, covering his eyes. He looked up from underneath it, but didn't say anything or attempt to remove it right away.
"Er..." said Haneko, "Here, uh..."
She gingerly grabbed a corner and pulled away the paper, leaving him blinking as if seeing and then not seeing was a new sensation for him. He looked down at her again.
"...Um..." he said, making her gulp nervously; she was curious beyond curious what in the world he would say, and here were his first words to her, "...is this the human world?"
