Prom Relationship Disposal
an excerpt
I take Maria through the woods, around to the back of the city, around the walls. There's only one route that I know of- it's a tiny little pass a little ways up the mountain to the right of the city. I've never seen anyone else on it. I have to help her along quite a bit- she's been getting a little chubby recently.
When we get to the other side, she actually SQUEALS. I smile at her. This place is a wildflower PARADISE in the Spring. I weave a garland of tiny yellow ones into her hair, and she smiles and leans against me. "How did you ever find this place?"
"Do you remember that time I set the visiting elves tent on fire?"
"Oh." She laughs. I kiss her cheeks. "That would certainly explain it." She pushes me away.
I hug her to me. "Now, will you tell me what's been bothering you? You haven't been yourself lately- almost three months now. Far too long for a small hormone shift."
She looks away. "I don't know if I can tell you."
I hug her. "Aw, come on. You can trust me."
She pulls away from my hold, looks away, and starts to cry. "I can't. I CAN'T."
Crop crop crop crop crop. Flirts handbook, what'd it say? Oh yeah, 'keep asking but don't push it too far- how far is too far, use your judgement and knowledge of the girl'. I can do this.
I go over to her and pick a flower that looks a lot like a daisy. "She loves me, she loves me not, she loves me, she loves me not- you know what, forget it. I don't need a flower to know I love you. What's wrong?"
She looks away. I place the flower in her hair, hug her to me as she cries, practically hold her up. "Shhh. Whatever it is, we'll whether it together. I promise."
She looks at me and sniffs. "Really? No matter what?"
"No matter what. I promise."
"I'm pregnant."
I drop her. "But we haven't even had SEX yet!"
