Excerpt: Interwoven Infinities

The three of them sat in silence on the slope of the roof like lions quietly looking about their dominion. A girl wearing a suit of black spandex walked by. Her high heels offered a resounding metered click that reverberated on the roof and probably extended to the men sitting on a porch up the street, and who only knew if the sound of this swaying young woman picked up with the click clacks of other women walking elsewhere, into a thunderous cacophanous symphony, and from there, mix with the honks of cars and the blending of blenders and the grinding of grinders and the shifting of bike gears, if it all might have made one resonant sound if heard from a distance.
