Brief Author Bio: Unhappy with life in Kentucky Esper married a Japanese girl and moved to the Land of the Rising Sun in the early '90s. Synopsis: Micronation Pacifica
The story involves a group of expatriots starting their own micronation on an old cruise ship in the Pacific Ocean and financed by a TV network as a 24/7 internet reality show. Colonists wear electronic tracers that activate any cameras nearby so viewers can track their favorite personalities at all hours (think Truman Show). The most popular colonists become the focus of bidding wars between ad agencies. A side story involves efforts to get the micronation recognized by other countries back in the real world... and then the pirates attack!
