It's always great to have a chat room where Wrimos could get together and talk about books, writing, and the strange eye-twitches one gets after consuming enough caffeine to kill a goat.
Thanks to the wonderful people at GoodChatting, we have a NaNoWriMo chat room once again this year.
Please note that lifeguards are not on duty in the chat room pool! If you are the recipient of unwanted messages in the chat room, it is very easy to block messages from a user. Just type "/ignore username"
In the event that you need to report abusive behavior in the chat room, please send an email to chatting at nanowrimo dot org. Please include your nickname, the nickname of the person who was acting inappropriately, and the text of the conversation.

In order to run the applet, you will have to accept code signed by Philippe Detourney, the developer of the applet.
If the applet doesn't work for you, you can connect to NaNoWriMo chat using any IRC client using the following information:
- Server: irc.goodchatting.com
- Port: 6667
- Channel: #nanowrimo
Finally, if you can't connect to the server and it says you're banned, please use the same email listed above to let the ops know the date, time, timezone, your nickname, what the message was, and, if you know it, your hostname.
