It's not REALLY supernatural, but given that one of the main characters is in fact an anthropomorphic personification of Death, it's also not strictly a Suspense Thriller. What genre would you say "Fallen" with Denzel Washington was?

Maybe mythic fiction? Most mythic fiction stories take place in some part of the "real" world but have varying levels of mythic "stuff" thrown in.
This article by Terri Windling does a good job of explaining it: http://www.endicott-studio.com/wtrm/wrOnMyth.html
Your story sounds like just the sort of thing I like to read. Hope I get the chance sometime. :)

I'm not sure where to classify mine yet either. I don't think I'll know until I've gotten farther into it. It has a contemporary setting, but there are "supernatural" creatures and several of the characters have magical abilities. It's going to focus more on family relations than the actual action/suspense part of things though.
I just thought I'd start dropping in on forums that are relevant and see if I can't make some friends. This is my second year for Nano and I want to have a rounded and successful experience this year.
