Anyone in Bozeman? I think we should throw one SWEET TGIO party! And possibly get together to write sometimes! The more support the better, right?!

Sounds good to me, I second that idea! Any ideas on what you're writing about yet?

I'm trying to sort that out, actually... I'm planning on using a lot of plot bunnies. And a LOT of ninjas when all else fails!

I'm not actually in Bozeman but my characters are! Lots more plot bunnies up that road. Maybe one year I'll take a road trip and come join ya for a month.

I am in Bozeman.

This is my first try at Nano.

If the group gets big enough we could try a gathering at the Library in one of the meeting rooms.

Write Well and Well Met.

what a great idea! We should do it, even if it's not a huge group

That would be a great idea- a group to sound ideas and characters and plots and such off of and get feedback. If one so chooses to.

My daughter is having her baby this month, once the little guy is out and about, I'd be glad to call the library and secure a meeting room.

Let's start by picking a day of the week.

Do we want to meet before the First of November?

I know the baby will be out by the 19th. That is next week. Where is my calandar? With my spellchecker?

Is a Friday evening good? The 26th of October Maybe? What time.

When we work it out, I will get us a room.

Be Well

I'm a Texas-born-Buttian, and it's my second try at NaNo... Last year, I went to a couple Missoula events, but I'm thinking about trying Bozeman events this time around, if I do any (gas is so friggin' expensive!)

pretty much any night except Tuesday works for me (I have my cross country/jumping lessons that night!) Thanks for helping out! I think meeting before Nov. is a great idea... we won't be so frantic, and can actually talk about ideas without having that hungry-desperate look about us!

so... we would have maybe 6 people up for meeting at the library? What night of the week works for everyone? Thursday nights? Friday nights? Monday? (I vote: NOT tuesday nights)

Hello Bozeman,

Tuesdays are ruled out. Thrusday, Friday or Saturday have been suggested. I think we should go for one of those.

If I remember the library rules, we can not reserve a regular night. I mean, if we ask for Friday, and the date is open, we can not get the room on the next Friday. Someone is welcome to call and check this out.

I thought I would like to gather one night in October but I am not good at writing as a group. I might make an October meeting but not in November. A December nano pot luck desert might be fun.

I am giving this over to the rest of you to figure out.

I'm going to call the library today, and see if I can get an evening on the 25th or 26th (of Oct) at least for this first 'meet and greet'. Then we can decide from there if we want to meet at a coffee shop (once we know what everyone sort of looks like... avoid the awkward "are you here for the Nanowrimo thing?" question and such) or at the library, or whatever.
Does 7pm work for everyone? 5 o'clock better? If I don't hear back, I'll just reserve whatever time they have available that sounds do-able.

More on this later today, I suppose!

Hey all.

I'm also a first year NaNoWriMo person. Technically I'm in Belgrade, but that's close enough anyway.

I'm definitely considering meeting up with everyone if my schedule permits. Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings are completely out of the question, but I'm usually free the other evenings if I can get away from my hubby.

Seven p.m. would probably work fine for me, but I could do a little earlier or later if necessary.

Hello! Okay, I reserved a room on Thursday October 25th from 5-6:30pm at the Bozeman Public Library (small meeting room) Friday was totally full...hopefully everyone can come for a meet and greet Thursday evening! I'm excited! If this in no way works for anyone, we will just meet at a coffee shop instead... BUT I'd like to let the library know asap if we need to cancel.

RSVP? (yeses, AND nos!)

I think I will be there. Heh, haven't even had a chance to go into the new library yet, so if you see someone wandering around lost, it's probably me!

Okay! SO! Our first lil' meet and greet went splendidly! Small, but VERY fun! So now comes the next question: how do we get EVERYONE together?

Do Thursdays still work for everyone?

We tentatively set Next Thursday (NOVEMBER 1st!!!) 6:30 or 7 pm at Rockford Coffee (on Main and 7th, next to Bagelworks) as our next meeting. Bring stuff to write with, bring stuff to discuss. Bring lots of ideas to share with those who desperately need them! We'll have a grand ol' time.

Please let me know if Thursdays aren't good in general though.

Okay! The time is drawing near to Ready, Set, WRITE!

I agree. That was a lot of fun. It's not often I get to sit down and chatter about writing with people. Non-writers just don't understand!

I'm going to work on that dinosaur of a laptop, see if there is some way I can get it functional so I can bring it with. I type a lot faster than I handwrite.

So are we all on for tomorrow evening? I'm planning on being there if someone else is, though I might be a bit late. Hubby and his hunting buddy set up our duck dinner (with ducks they shot) for tomorrow and I'm the cook. Fortunately, it'll be in the Crock-pot. Hubby will be doing dishes when dinner's over. :-D

Anyway... Tomorrow at Rockford?

Hello Bozeman;

I might show up if I get my first day's count done. Are we there to write or mingle? It makes a big difference.

Be Well!

I'll be there with bells on... well, maybe not with bells on but I will be there! 6:30 pm Rockford. If people want to come to write, that's great. If so, we can make the mingle part short! I thought we'd all share a little bit about ourselves (especially those who missed the meet n' greet!)

1) Your name, and years doing wrimo
2) the name and a brief synopsis of your novel... if you don't know anything except the MC's first name and the genre, that's okay too!
3) how many words you'd written already, and if you'd like a snippet of the story. Maybe the last paragraph, or last two sentences of what you wrote that day

Then, we can all write, or not write, or whatever! I can't wait to see everyone!

I'll be there to write, so the less chit chat the better for me.

I'm planning on writing, too, but I'm also planning on writing my daily allotment before I go so then I'm not stressed out about it. Planning on using a good deal of my Anti-stress natural supplements this month, too.

Good news is I got my computery daddy to help with my laptop, so I can use that for NaNo now. The dinosaur known as my laptop will be attending tomorrow as well. :-D

I'll do my best to be there... hopefully I'll have the first day's quota under my belt by then and anything more I can churn out will just be a bonus. I guess there'll be people who want to write and people who want to chat, and probably some that want to do both. I'm in the third camp.

So far I have a name for my main character, something approaching an opening line and a subtitle (Everything I Know About The Private Detective Trade I Learned From Pirates). I'm looking forward to getting started, because I want to know what happens.

Good luck, everyone! May your words pour freely onto the page, starting in 90 minutes or so!
