I've done a little reading on the Fugue state, but can anyone point me to a place where I can find more information about it other than Wikipedia? I'm especially interested in "recovery" -- can people gain their memories back themselves? How possible would it be for someone to be told incorrect versions of their memories and form "false" memories based on these stories?

Wikipedia article says it needs cleanup and an "expert" on the subject, so I'm a little hesitant to take it's word.

As a second thought, is there a different system for diagnosis of mental disorders in the UK than in the US?

Hi there,
I have Dissociative Identity Disorder and Dissociative Amnesia, not fugue, but maybe I can answer some of your questions...

for your last question, the DSM IV is pretty much standard, I believe.... unless someone has different information, I think that whether you're in the UK or the US if you meet the criteria you still get diagnosed, other stuff going on notwithstanding.

I know a lot less about dissociative fugue than other dissociative issues, but please check these websites out:

http://psychcentral.com/disorders/sx87.htm

http://www.mind.org.uk/Information/Booklets/Understanding/Understanding+...

http://www.nku.edu/~hcp/DISSOCIATION.htm

Hope this helps, feel free to NaNo me if you just want help on dissociation itself. =)

Now that it's closer to the start date, I'm bumping this.
