Greetings one and all!
I enjoyed the trials and tribulations (and successes) of NaNoWriMo last year that I decided to go again this year! Last year I was travelling, but now I am home and looking for some fellow Prince George writers to perhaps get together with to share stories and keep up on how we are doing through the month of November!
I will be checking back here when I remember and will also keep an email subscription to this page in case anyone replies!
Good luck and I look forward to hearing from you, if you are here!

Cariboo represent! I'm a little further south, in Wells. Here we write with dip-pens and ink, and submit our entries by dogsled. Actually, now that we have high-speed, I've been having a great time making online writing connections. And I could be coerced into making the drive to PG if there was something very fun and literary happening.

I know where Wells is - and that is not too far away! I am sure that we would be able to arrange a get together at some point!
Unfortunately, at the moment, you are the only other one in the area who I (now) know of! So if you happen to know anyone else who is interested in writing it would be awesome to get them involved. I have been bugging the PG Library to get involved - they had never even heard of NaNo before, so hopefully they will get a few people involved - though it is looking like they may be better organized next year.
Funny that they would have something set up for "Talk like a Pirate day" but not have anything in regards to NaNo. Ah well!
Keep in touch and we will see what we can come up with - I am always up for coffee/talking about how our 50,000 words are coming along and maybe can arrange something else fun and amusing to do! I am open to suggestions!

Anyways, if there were some really fantastic literary happenings, let me know.

Well, welcome to Arctic_wolf, pgnana and cranberrygirl!
It is nice to know that not only are there people in PG participating, but people who are also willing to get together!
I was thinking that it would be wonderful to have a get together sometime around the beginning of November - kind of a beginning get to know who else is writing as well as some beginning support for the month!
What do people think?
What kind of places are preferred?
I am usually up for coffee anywhere (Timmy's is cheap and one of my favouritres, but I also like the Second Cup and am cool with Starschmucks occasionally.)
Any ideas? If there is something else that any of you would like to do, just let me know! I am sure that we can work something out.
I have a relatively open schedule, though I am quite busy leading up to Hallowe'en because of fireworks (one of my jobs)!
By the way - I think that it is awesome that there is a generational thing going on with the writing - so cool! My Mom participated last year, but I don't think that she is going to do it again this year - still working on convincing her.

I would have loved to join all of you for coffee but Mom will have to drink a cup for me, since I doubt my boss would let me have a day off to travel to PG for coffee*lol*, I am hoping the WL group of ppl will do something though, cuz it kinda sucks that most of us here do nada to get together and cheer each other on :(
So think of me alllllllllllll alone while you drink coffee*L*
good luck all of you

Heh, welcome nwpassage! The worst that can happen is you don't make the 50,000 words, and really - not a terrible thing! It is great just to be able to have fun and enjoy company!
Cran - too bad about you being in Williams Lake! Would be nice to have you join us for coffee!
pgnana - The store your daughter is suggesting is Books and Company and their coffee is not too bad! They actually have lots of lovely suggestions, so I would be happy to go there!
Anyone else have any other suggestions?
I am thinking that the first or second of November would be good, unless anyone wants to try to get together before as a "getting ready" day.
Thoughts?

Hi y'all,
I live PG but I'll actually be in Prince Rupert for the month of November :( I tried this last year and it didn't work so well for me but I'm excited to be trying again. Maybe if I'm away from the big city :), I can focus on my writing. Anyways, it would be awesome to meet with y'all in late October or early, early November.

I would love to come up for a kickoff on the first or second! Any excuse to stop in at Books & Co. I'll see if I can scoop up any Quesnellians for the trip, if one of the PG crowd would like to state a date and time.

Hey you writers from PG!
Still looking for a regional volunteer/Grand Master of Activity for your region. Is anyone interested in organizing a few write-ins, maybe a mini-kick off, should time permit? Just to be the in-person, go-to, since I can't be in all places at once?
That and I can send the GMAs great swag to hand out to the rest of the awesome Wrimos in his/her region.
Sucks that I can't be everywhere at once but I definitely want to help you guys out as much as I can.
Let me know if anyone's interested. If not, no big deal!
Cheers and hugs,

Hi Elenya- I am sending you a pm, just so you know!
As to the rest of you - sorry that I was off for a while, unfortunately, Hallowe'en is a very busy time of the year for me as I help organize fireworks shows for all over BC! It has definately been crazy!
Anyways, November looms ahead, just a few more days, so I thought that I had best get on and arrange a date for our coffee meet!
I think that the second would work the best for me - sometime in the afternoon or maybe even the early evening?
Around 3 or 4 would work for me as I pick my boyfriend up from work at 5. We can meet at Books and Co. - a suitable starting place for us all.
If Saturday would work better for people, or later in the evening on the Friday, let me know as soon as you can and we can try to arrange something different!
:)

Hi all,
Afternoon of the 2nd or anytime Saturday would work for me as well. If folks would like to meet on Saturday, my only suggestion would be for an afternoon meetup, as I've got a regular swimming/workout in the morning, and it's a long drive from Quesnel.
Looking forward to putting faces to names!

Well, unless there are any complaints, I say that we go for Saturday around 3... that way anyone with a week job can still come!
We can meet at the cafe part of Books and Co. - no one should be able to miss me as I am rather tall and (if I remember) will be wearing a grey knit hat with little ears on it :D

Saturday 3pm it is!
How about a NaNoWriMo table sign? I bet you anything that if someone called Voltaire's ahead of time, they'd get a huge kick out of it and print up a quick sign for us. Maybe even a poster in the window - see if we can sign up any raw recruits! (BWAHahaha...) Shall I phone them tomorrow and see, or do we have a de facto regional coordinator at this point?
(btw: sorry about the double-post. After four minutes, I assumed the server was stuck in a loop and sent it again. This must be the heavy posting hour.)

I think that the glazed look is definately going to be there ...
There is not a RQ yet, though I have volunteered and am more than happy to do the phoning and stuff. I will make up a little sign for us to place on the table, I will make up a poster as well and ask if I can put it up in the window :D
And again, I believe that Saturday at 3 will work unless anyone comes up with any objections
:D

Hey PG Nana - I think that Saturday is the 3rd of the Month :D (yes, I just checked, it is)
So if you can make it then for 3pm, that would be great! Unfortunately, I am most likely going to be called into work tomorrow, so I don't want to chance not being able to make the coffee meet!
Oh, and I have volunteered to be the Master of Activities for our region - so any questions or wants to get together can be either posted here and I will make it happen or you can send me a message! I will be giving my number out at the meeting, but if you can't make it and want my number just send me a message and I will get it to you!
Have fun writing!
