Hi Manasa *waves". Nice to see that someone is responding to this thread! I would like to introduce myself as the brand new ML for Hyderabad. Hope to meet with you on one of the write-ins or parties!

Hello, I also live in Hyderabad. I'm delighted to find other writers, here. I've lived here for the past three years. I write for children and my first picture book is being illustrated as we speak and will be published in the US next spring. I also keep a blog : www.katianovetsaintlot.blogspot.com.
I'd love to meet any other writers in the city. Writing is such a lonely business. I have online friends all over, of course, but that means that I basically spend my life in front of the computer - when I'm not busy with the kids - and I often miss having a more real interaction with other writers.

Hi Katia!

Congratulations on your book. And I also took a peek at your blog.

Great to have you here on the forum and the Hyderabad thread! Hope you are able to make it for the meets and dos that we have during the month. I'm sure you will make a whole bunch of new and interesting friends!

Hi All,

I have just set myself a big challenge by joining this. In true NaNoWriMo style, I dont know what I am going to write about or if I even will be able to write. I see this as 1500 words everyday and that doesnt seem like a large figure. So here is to the Hyderabad bunch. Lets hope we make the 50,000 mark.

And thanks Rasana for being my motivation for this.

Smiles,
Anita

Are we still on for the meeting tomorrow? Don't know if you all have heard, but there is an auto strike tomorrow. Anyway, maybe we should create a mailing list? My email rasana_atreya@hotmail.com. Regards.

Hi Rasana,

I wasn't aware of the auto strike. As such, since I drive myself around, it doesn't matter to me. But if it will affect a lot of people, we can possibly reschedule it. Where do you live? Maybe one of the others can give you a lift.

Hi Tanushree (sorry, I thought your name was Asheernut! ;)

I'll figure out a way to get there. This is normally not a problem for me because I drive too, but my husband has taken the car (and the kids, yay!), and so I have no other way to get around. I'll see if I can figure out the bus route.

Hello Asheernut and all the other Hyderabadi writers out there,
I just got back from a trip in Rajasthan ! I had meant to check emails while I was gone, but was just too tired at the end of each day. I'm so disappointed I missed this first meeting. Hope there will be others.

Hi Katia,

Hope you had a great trip in Rajasthan... We have just had our meet today, and it would have been great to have you there too! It was a "Girl Power" meet, with all an all-women group talking about plots, characters, motivations to write and everything else under the sun. One of the best things to happen was a young aspiring novelist who saw our group and came up to ask what it was about! I hope that we have converted her too!

One of the outcomes of the meet was that we are going to start a Hyderabad-specific mailing list (on Yahoo or Google or some such). If you (or any other readers of this thread) are interested in joining the list, please do write in to me at "asheernut @ gmail . com" with you preferred email ID.

As for further events, of course! This is just the beginning. Look forward to write-ins and word wars, and of course a big bash when it's all over!

Keep plotting!

In this case, it was quality, not quantity. But there were half a dozen of us there... and hopefully at least 3-4 more people will be at the next meet we have.

I guess with only 63 people signed up for India as a whole, you cannot expect too many people in any one city, and even fewer to turn up at meets like this because of various other engagements. Maybe this time, when we have a lot of successes, we can blow our trumpets a bit and get some more people to sign up next time!

Keep plotting...

Hi.

Joined just now because two of my friends are on the group. I hope to hammer out the novel by the end of Nov. Regret missing the meet on Sunday. When is the next meet?? I hope you all have worked out the plot in your minds.

To reply to Vinod's question - Plot? What plot? Who told you a novel needs a plot - go ask all our movie-makers... :))

I think this time it is going to be random...start somehwere and let the story go....as long as it ends itself....
Otherwise, I can always write at the end - He/She started walking with nowhere to go.... lolzzz

Hi Sarpvinash,

Scheduled and over too! The meet was on Sunday, and it had been posted on the regional events calendar (if you scroll down to the bottom of the India forum page, you will see any events pending) and also on the Hyderabad thread.

Sorry that you missed it... we are forming a mailing list of all Hyderabad WriMos... why don't you email me at asheernut @ gmail.com with your ID and I will add you to the list so that you can get further updates right in your mailbox :-)

Hi.

Thanks Mansa, for the welcome.

About the plot, Aparna, I guess it will be helpful even if we have a basic idea of the novel we are planning to write- i.e., a few important events, then it will be easier to write it. I am planning to do it that way. Since I have managed to locate the notebook in which I had scribbled the outline of the novel I was supposed to write a decade back (!), I guess I have a fairly good idea of what to write. Of course, I will add some fresh scenes and idea as the novel progresses.

Tanushree, include me in the mailing list. My email id is vinekbote@gmail.com. In case anyone wants to see my blog, here is the address www.vinekbote.blogspot.com. I write about books, fountain pens and also about Hyderabad here. So far that is the only writing I have been doing and with the novel, I will have another opportunity to write more.

Hi Cactina,

Welcome to the forum. You have made it in time for the Month of course, but sadly, not in time for the meet we had on Sunday.

However, do join the mailing list that we have created for Hyderabad at http://groups.google.com/group/nanohyd/

Keep plotting!
