Hi everyone! Just wondering if there are any Sarnia and area (I'm in P-town) folks NaNoing who want to meet up sometime! My work schedule doesn't allow me to get out to London for their meet-ups, and I'd love to meet some other local aspiring novelists :D

Cheers and best wishes,
Melanie

Hey! I was wondering the same thing. I'm also in P-Town, and since it's the night before I'm pumped!! Do you know what you're writing about yet??

I have a concept to do a fantasy war story.

The story will be somewhat in the style of Sharpe or Honor Harrington novels. It will feature a new officer that is in a war enviroment. The story will start at the graduation ceremony and finish with the first real battle the character leads troops.

I am calling it write now 'The Lieutenant of Fairies'.

Day 1 has come and gone. How is it going for you?

Myself, it is a mixed bag of feelings.

I feel good that I got an outline done which was 1,212 words and my first chapter which was 2,846 words.

I think that is pretty good for my first day and on track for my goal. My goal is a bit ambitious as I have set myself a 75,000 word goal with 2,500 words per day as my target. I figure that if I shoot for 75k and fall short then I should still make the 50k goal.

The down side of my thinking is that I was looking at a forum and noticed someone who was in Australia and on their second day and up to 19k. On my best day of writing, I have maybe done 6k of writing. My 3.5k of output thus felt good but I look at this other author and see someone who is almost 1/2 to the goal of 50k.

While I should not compare myself to others, it is still somewhat depressing to think of how much they have done and still had time to post to a forums thread.

Oh well, I will be happy in my first day and first chapter of my novel.

I posted my outline to my profile. I will likely post the first chapter in a day or two.

I'm in Sarnia. I noticed we didn't have a region in the listing. Closest was London or Chatham.

Day 2 come and gone.

I have now finished my second chapter.

Saturday is my regular rpg game night. I hope thus to get some of the writing on ch 3 in the afternoon. Though I also want to go to Future Pastimes and enjoy World Wide DnD gmaes day.

I also plan to take down the outline tomorrow and load up the first chapter.

Day 3. I see that my fellow Sarnia people are getting well under way with their novels. Go Sarnia.

Yesterday, I did DnD in the afternoon and and the evening which cut into my day. I only did around a 1,000 words working on Chapter 3 of the novel.

I uploaded Chapter 1 to my Novel Excerpts.

Send me an email with comments if you read it.

Today, the goal is to get Chapter 3 finished and to work on Chapter 4.

I find my biggest procrastination spending time looking at these boards and the Wizards of the Coast 4e boards.

Hope everyone has a good day and their writing goes well!

Yay! There's four of us now!

I've worked hard, and I'm almost at 7000. I was hoping my husband would take pity on me and do the dishes, but this morning when I woke up there were no bowls to have my cereal in... I gave in and did the dishes. Since I can't skip work or any of my comittee commitments I'm afraid housework is what suffers during NaNo... But tomorrow should be better since I'll be at the laundrymat for a few hours and I'll be taking my laptop with me so I can work while I do housework... Genius!

Well, I finished up Day 6 and I am just shy of 18K now.

That means I am averaging close to 3K per day.

I also now have 5 chapters written.

I am going to put a new excerpt for people to look at later today.

Best of wishes to everyone here on their writing. :>

Day 10

I reached 26K and finished my chapter 8. That is roughly a 1/3 of what I have planned to write.

I will think tomorrow of doing another excerpt from my growing novel.

Cheers and keep writing.

End of Day 15.

I broke the 40K mark today.

I also finished my chapter 12 which is around half of the number of chapters that I had planned to write.

I may get this novel finished before the end of the month.

On the other side, I got a call that work wants me a few more days a week.

Tax season is slowly starting to get going more and more.

PS: I think a meet up might be a good idea but I think that I might stick out from the crowd being 40.

Day 29 and I reached 50K!

Looking forward to some of the other people in Sarnia doing the same.
