Very late I think of this ... and only because so many returnees are having to go into the Newbies to say they're back.

Here's the check-in for WriMos who know what they're letting themselves in for.

I could jump up and down and just squeal with delight at all the familiar names! I could, but my knees would not thank me for it.

Discovered NaNo in '03 (and won that year), story imploded in '04, distracted by gaming (didn't enter) in '05, and wrote 50k words of fluff-spam in '06.

Of course, I've been in the US since '03 anyway, so this is the first year I'm actually writing NaNo in Singapore.

This year I'm going to try writing an actual story with a beginning, middle, and end, all within around 50k words. This is so I don't end up spending six thousand words writing about how to eat noodles or something.

Returning to fail spectacularly for the Nth year running. I can't even remember when I started this anymore. It's insane. xD I remember seeing it and running from it in 2001, then coming back and winning for the 03 and 04 years, and then I think I got infected by some disease. All the same, happy to be part of the Singaporean comm and to flail around with everyone once again.

Well everyone's seen me around and about so yes I'm back dear Mothermod~

I'm probably going to fail miserably this year, too, since my comp LIKES crashing on me during NaNo and choir sucks the life out of me. Anyway. Erm..

Well, looking forward to writing this year even though I can't stay up till the next morning on the first night like I always do because of choir, of all things. My characters will probably drive me bonkers before November 15th, but they always do, and I always kinda somewhat get past it anyways.

Can't wait for write-ins and anything and everything~!

I started nano in 2005, not finishing my novel. I'm sure everyone remembered the lets-scrap all-i've-written-and start-all-over again-from-scratch-mid-way-through-November episode. I tried again 2006 and didn't finish it again due to the fact that the characters stopped moving forward with the story and started fu-- um, copulating anywhere, every where and all the time.

This year I hope to finish. You know the saying, third times the charm? I hope it works for me.

D'oh! Was a total failure last year. 6000 words out of a potential 50000. This is what comes out of not planning properly.

Found Nano in 2005 but didn't sign up because I didn't want the hassle of sending in the parental consent form to who-knows-where. I had to wait an agonizing year only to fail completing Nano. >_>;;; This year! More writing hours! Less slacking (but I gotta have time for computer games)! I will succeed!...

...at least 1/5 of it, anyway.

Let's see. Found NaNo on the last day of October 2005 and signed up, figuring I had nothing to lose, and almost immediately the servers crashed and I thought I broke the site. XD Came back 2006 and here I am in 2007 again, despite the Os - this time, new and improved (sort of) with a space and initial capitals!

It should be interesting to see how things go for me this year; I've got stuff going on, plus my exams, so yeah.

Stumbled across Nano last year, somewhere in the first week of November. After much internal debate, I decided what the hell, and signed up. 3 weeks later, I'm tearing my hair out and cursing at my characters who absolutely REFUSED to cooperate with me (I think one ran off to a nunnery to prance around the hills and fall in love with a retired General), and well.. it didn't end too prettily.

This year, however, I've got a vague plot, three relatively insane characters, and more bad puns than you can shake a stick at. Here's to 50K by the end of November! =)

Back for more! :o

This is my third year. And somehow I still can't believe it starts in two days; I don't feel as prepared as I felt before. (Even though I already have a big fat 39-page outline - well, more like a blow-by-blow chapter-by-chapter summary - for my first novel and a few ideas of what's supposed to happen in the second... haha, call me kiasu. And yes, I'm doing two novels again this year.)

Anyway, can't wait to do it again! Good luck everyone!

I did nano last year because I wanted to do it the year before last, and the year before that, and the year before. I discovered this site in '03 but I chickened out, forgot to do it, or thought I wasn't ready. So in 06, I took the plunge and I'm here for more.

Hopefully I'll be able to complete my novel this year.

Introduced to NaNoWriMo in 2005, when I was brimful of ideas and someone gave me the website so that I'd bleeding WRITE them down; did it all on my own without ever visiting the forums and was quite surprised to find out that there was an actual community here when Rozen pinged me at the end about the TGIO party (where I got lost at Raffles Place and stalked random people hoping one of them would lead me to the Arts House, as Starflamer eventually did).

Did it again in 2006, this time with the word-war function in full utilization.

Coming back this year, but I probably won't be as successful - 30th October and I still haven't formulated anything solid, plus my holidays are packed. haha.

Hi All,

I was a winner last year (name of cushion) This year I'm trying a new name and a new ambition To double my word count from last year. With a story based around pigeons and mad headmasters I'm not sure how I'll go. Best of luck to everybody

Technically I heard of nanowrimo due to nadracomo... or something to that sort. Draw a comic a day in a month that my friends were doing and then I went ooh on the source which was nanowrimo!

Anywho, summaries of what did I do:

Year 1 - No idea what the heck... just write a REALLY random story.

Year 2 - Had an idea how it'll be, wrote a story with the ending in mind, "In Your Dreams".

Year 3 - Knew what story to write but this time isn't for "seriousness". Wanted to write a FUN story... as in write for UTTER fun and so I did!! It was insane but it was fun. Nothing suited for publishing though.

Year 4 - New format trying out, journal/chat convo format with actual guidelines. And Year 4 is THIS current year.

And oh, everyone should know I'm your co-ML anywho.

I suppose its over now? I hope you weren't plotting between tangents, or integrations or whatever they have in there...

actually, it's over now. it ended at 5pm. and no, i wasn't plotting NaNo between random questions on statistics, summations, and intangible integrations.

having said that, this is the first year writing NaNo that I have a mental plot outline going beyond a couple of defining scenes and a rough idea. heh.

Hello everyone! Wow this is strange... I'm a nanowrimo-er who has been at this for a couple of years now (... god is it normal to just not remember how many years its been?) and I've been writing! Er. Barely, but this is the first time I've managed to get a look at the forums for this year. :)

Nice to meet you all!

My third year here! I intended to miss participation this year due to my O levels, but I came, anyway! XP Had to rack my brains for a plot while studying for my exams, but I'm glad that I still made it! Although compared to last year's novel this year's is considerably shorter...

I'm glad to be back! :D Although I wished I had started earlier, so I wouldn't be in such a mess now. XP
