Mutual time zone generic forum greeting with topic tolerance zoned specific for the domain of the (virtual) rendering of ink onto paper for the purpose of fictions.

Now I'm new to writing anything of substance, and majored in avoidance with a diminished fifth of Beethoven. So given I begin, I think I will probably be writing a bit goon show style.

Now I'm 1840 hours in and nothing typed. Just a few random sentences. Bugger.

So I switched to character buildup for a while. Now trying to describe a character that does not exist yet. A character in the void. Well that had me baffled. Then I tried this.

I made statements of the form

X is ...;X has ...;X can ...;X wants ...;X likes...; X hates...; X will ...;X wont ... etc

and made merry with them, coming up with very specific details. And every now and then throw in a because, e.g.

X likes the third track on every Beatles album the best, because there are three threes in the number thirty three, the age Paul McCartney wasn't when he turned twenty one.

Stuff like that - a bottom-up approach and well-suited to humour. (And that's two ewes for the price of one.)

Is there a place where this approach is documented for general use?

Well I might go try and avoid writing something else now. Cheers :)
