Hi there

I've done my first 1688 words to be precise and have posted my first excerpt. Feeling rather satisfied with my first day's work and hope it continues for the rest of the month. It will be an interesting challenge!

Good luck to all.

Ciao
Robin

Wicked, I'm about the same. 1793 words and an exerpt.

Good luck to you too!

I have done.... absolutely nothing. I'm relying on my totally empty next week in which to catch up.....

I was pretty amazed at how many words I could hammer out in one session. I just hope it continues that way, but I have a feeling life's not so easy ...

So far, I have managed to write 3,300 words. That's pretty good going for me as I am a pretty slow writer. I hope that things will pick up a bit more once I get going (This is, after all, my first year doing this), but I'm still satisfied with what I've achieved so far. I would like to get to 4000 words by the end of day 2.

Good luck and happy writing, Perth writers!

I too have written more than I thought I would have by now. What's funny is how I had a plan for what my characters would be like, and they're already rebelling! I don't think an excerpt is really a very good idea right now.

I've managed to procrastinate for the last few minutes by writing in my diary how many words I need to have done by the end of each day in November. Unfortunately it only took about 5 minutes. Now I'm back to deciding what's going to happen next... should my characters get takeaway, seeing as it's Friday night? Or should they wait for their parents to return.... it's all happening in my novel, as you can tell.

Less than 3 hours left of day 2, and I'm about a day behind on the word count. Its some small consolation that I'm actually kinda happy with what I've done so far, and I at least have a vague plan for the major characters and the plot now. Emphasis on vague, but even so. It's a start.

I've just managed to move ahead of my target by a smidgin. Listening to Dark Side of the Moon on head phones did it .. just had to find the right sounds to write to!

They get takeaway and the delivery driver crashes his car outside ;-)

I just posted my first excerpt. Going back and re-reading it I can already see some things that need tweaking but I'm trying to resist the urge to edit. Word count, baby, word count!

Hmm..... well I just joined today and to be honest I only found out about this "challenge" about 3 hours ago. So with about 2.5 hours of planning and 30 minutes of writing I have produced only a couple of hundred words. Of which I decided my opening 100ish words were perhaps extract worth. I'm really impressed at the progress some have already made. I mean, there are some local to this forum who are pretty much half way there. I've got a lot of catching up to do.
