We've never had any official word wars before. I've been drifting around various other regions looking for potential opponents but they all seem to have paired off. Our traditional rivals in Malaysia are looking a bit quiet this year. End result is I have an idea for an internal Singapore word war (well, farfalla over in the Ireland: Elsewhere had the idea and I just sto... borrowed it).
Idea is this:
You sign up in here for one of the following Singapore regions:
East
West
North
Central
Overseas (okay, not technically in Singapore)
At the end of the first NaNo week I total your individual word counts and divide them by the number of WriMos representing each region and so on each week until the end. The winning team wins a prize at the TGIO. If Overseas win then we'll make arrangements for prizes to be delivered.
Valerie will have to count as two people because she's off the planet as far as word count goes :D

I'm signing up for the West. Yay Clementi!!

Well, me for the East, although we'll probably lose rather terribly unless Valerie comes to the rescue, there seems to be a lot less NaNoers in the East than everywhere else; the active ones at least.
We should so do a little word war thing every write-in. It'd spur us to write faster, at least. And more.

Valerie's already on 22k. I should have said four people not two.
Anyway, it's average word count: total words per region divided by number of WriMos in that region so it doesn't matter if there's 5 or 50 it all averages out.

Hahahah, I'm under EAST!
But in the end we all know I'll end at around 50,000 or plus a few hundreds or thousand to that.

What's considered the end of the first NaNo week? As in, Thursday next (the day, not the character), or the weekend?
Oh, and I'm Central. Well, off-kilter, but nevertheless Central.

End of the week will be Friday, since I posted this on a Friday and NaNo ends on a Friday, meaning results will be tallied just after midnight on Fridays.
Central can also be called South.
People who don't have a word count shouldn't enter! They'll just bring down the average for their region. And no sabotage by signing up for a rival region and writing nothing!
I'm sounding awfully bossy aren't I?
Still waiting for North and Overseas to have their first volunteers. Ziyang and sansele? Are you in for Overseas? Yossarian1985?

Teams so far are:
East: starflamer, sarahcoldheart
West: Raven Silvers, rozen, cancy, ProtoKnightBlazer
Central/South: dkellis, alluminated scrolls, HQ, fr0zan, Aadria, teokeez
North and Overseas are both nuls points
Singapore's word count total as of a couple of minutes ago was around 190,000. Valerie and dkellis probably account for 60,000 of those between them, but hey, who's counting! (me, me, me, me)

Yup, kind of caught up in work that I sort of disappeared from the forums for a while.
Haha yup, I'll enter as overseas then!
