This is the place to come to when you need to have a really good moan.

Me first.

I'm moving house in a few weeks -- arrggh!
I've got repetitive strain injury on my shoulder -- arrggh!
I've got two project deadlines breathing down my neck -- arrggh!
I bought Dragon Naturally speaking so I wouldn't have to type because of the RSI and now I have a sore throat -- and I can't even say arrghh!!

There! I feel better.

I've just finished the worst chemistry paper of my life (PART A OF QUESTION TWO OF SECTION B HAD LIKE, EIGHT SUBSECTIONS! -headdesk-) am being plagued by bouts of cold and sore throat because I keep getting stuck with the seat right under the air conditioner, have to go eat a disgusting dinner that won't taste like it should in about two hours, and then cry over a century's worth in history notes, then massage my wrists awfully because I typed too fast due to procrastinating on my novel and soon after got a block or something, run out of money, and THEN go out for pizza.

This is barely half of what anyone else is going to post here soon though...I musn't complain too much ;)

Full day workshops and conferences make me so tired that by the time I get home, I can barely write anything.

Why don't they provide lunch for the conference?!

Why do the speakers have to be so boring!

Argh!

My turn. *coughs*

When its supposed to be the unoffical holidays for all Secondary school students, the school happily decides to have the Sec Threes contiune to study for another two weeks for the sake of 'Preparing O Levels'. Best of all is that half of the class usually end up skipping it. Seriously, what is the point of having the lessons when no one even bothers to listen? Ugh. >> I waste half of my day studying stuff which I forget soon enough. Seesh. At least I don't have to stay back until like one-thirty like the Geography and pure Sciences students...

Meh, being a student gives quite a headache still at times. But I guess my problems are the smallest compared to the others.

LOL my turn. Man I'm shameless.
1. I have exams and I hate them. I'm living in this bubble of uncertainty because I don't know how everything will turn out, much like my novel.
2. Sometimes my novel is going nowhere. See #1 on uncertainty.
3. Exams.
4. Did I already mention exams?

Right.

I sprained my back yesterday carrying some heavy stuff at work -_- so if I stay in one position for too long it starts to hurt really badly. Not good for trying to sit still and write my story!

Secondly (and I only have myself to blame for this) I got distracted yesterday by my RP! Did not write a single word of my novel the whole of yesterday.

And thirdly I meet my biggest blocks when I'm exhausted. And work is the biggest energy drainer~~~

Today's a public holiday (Happy Deepavali for those who celebrate) but I'll have to spend it at workplace sleepy & with an aching wrist (Somehow the right one is always surprisingly weaker.) Yesterday caught Stardust*--a disappointment--and just convinced me how a book is often better* than a movie version (Still De Niro character is darn hilarious).

*) Note to self: must borrow the book again after NaNoWriMo. Heh.
**) with perhaps the exception of "300", "Road to Perdition" & "1408" (but the former 2 are graphic novels & the latter is a short story).

I was going to complain that I had no money, but then I realized that's good! Cos I have to stay home and I can spend time writing :D

Btw, 1408 was really good.

I'm having doubts about my novel, oh no! I was watching some anime episodes and suddenly decided my novel had quite a weak plot. Still wondering whether I should change the whole story now, but that's roughly 13K words to churn out to keep up. D: And I thought I was finally keeping on time too.

The major trouble I'm having lies in the dialogue. I have a hard time keeping the phrasings consistent to each character, and often they come off as stilted or too formal or too informal. After November I'll likely be ripping many scenes to shreds and rewriting them again. :(

The sun is setting at 4pm (and getting earlier by the day) ><

The temperature is falling, the leaves are falling, the sky is falling (not really, just that it is perpetually gloomy)

And, I have to keep switching writing modes throughout the day (my poor brain), from writing Science (where every single sentence is supposed to make enlightened sense) to writing Nano (where the sentences don't really matter)

Sigh, I want my Char Kway Teow (even the Singapore restaurants here serve pirated Char Kway Teow)

Okay, so I am going to whine. I was looking forward to being able to write all day today, when my parents dragged me out. And then my brother summarily decided to continue stepping on my feet, which, for a matter of fact, were wearing very uncomfortable shoes (screw parents and their ideas of what was presentable; can't slippers do?). Six times.

And now I'm 6k behind and counting. Urgh.

No one disturb me until 4am, kthxbye.

I went all the way to the iceskating rink at Jurong today to take a break from nano-ing but it was freaking crowded and we couldnt get in D: And Jurong is like on the other side of Singapore, from where I'm living.

I'm getting bleached from constant radiation from my computer. It sucks.

Yesterday, I didn't answer my phone just cos I didn't want to and my cousin who lives upstairs came down, let himself into my house and dragged me up for lunch. So much for individual rights and free will, huh?

I think my eyesight will increase by a thousand and my air con bills, not to mention computer bills will go through the roof in Novemeber.

I'm going away for 5 days to Hongkong on a shopping/disneyland trip. Yay, right? But I have to write 8333 extra words before I leave if I don't want to fall behind when I'm gone. Not to mention miscellanous camps and stuff.

Okay. That's my whining done for today :D

I was looking forward to writing today but i had to go for some talks in the morning so by the time I got back, it was afternoon and the house was filled with relatives.

And I have cramps.

:O I have cramps too.

Well, thigh cramps, moving heavy stuff in the shop again. (BLAME THE NEW REGULATIONS REGARDING SHOP FRONTS! GARGH!!!) It hurt so much I stood in my bedroom, hunched over my bed immovable for ten minutes >_< And they attacked again when I was walking on the streets. Talk about embarrassing.

But I included them in the novel, hee. At least something good came out of it.

More of an annoyance than anything else. My hair smells weird and, for some reason, keeps tickling my nose, and everytime it falls in front of my face I'm convinced I'm going to die because I see a red mist.

My t-shirt is shedding onto my laptop protector, so now it looks vaguely like a black-haired cat went strolling across my Apollo ):

The glare from the light above my computer screen is hurting my eyes, but I can't switch it off because otherwise the dark room-bright screen difference gives me a headache.

And, to top it all off, someone ate most of my wine gums ):

I have a Japanese oral interview-test to prepare for AND a project presentation to boot (note to self: Never take Japanese language modules in NUS), plus not to mention impending finals WHICH I haven't started studying for, I'm about 10K behind on my word count, AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF...

There's no chocolate in the house. D:

Two research papers dumped on my head and my mum's bugging me to get started before next year. SATs at the beginning of December. Holiday homework is looming.

But all that can wait :D

I got a 5000 word paper due monday which hasn't been started yet.
Exams are starting in 2 weeks and I haven't started revising. Which is important cos I have to pull up my CAP score.

And I just spent 3/4 of my no-school day writing for this and doing nonsense that's not remotely academic.

I think I might be running out of story. OHNOES>

mezzogal, are you from NUS by any chance?

And in a desperate attempt to up my word count, I've added a character who rambles for hours on end. Good for Nano, bad for my inner editor who's fighting ferociously to get out and attack my story with a vengeance.

Le sigh.

Must have comfortable shoes for prom.

Must have comfortable shoes for prom.

Must have comfortable shoes for prom.

But does it have to involve my feet hurting for days before? ): Two inch heels are no fun, especially after years of only wearing sneakers, sandals and slippers.
